Inconel 625 demonstrates an excellent combination of corrosion resistance and high strength. Due to the high nickel content, alloy 625 is immune to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. It also has good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. and shows good resistance to aqueous corrosion, but is relatively moderate compared to other more capable corrosion-resistant alloys.

Corrosion Resistance:
INCONEL 625 is an austenitic super heat resistant alloy with nickel as the main component. Derived from the solid solution strengthening effect of molybdenum and niobium contained in the nickel-chromium alloy, it is widely used in the aerospace industry for its ultra-high strength and extraordinary fatigue resistance at low temperatures up to 1093°C. Although the alloy is designed for strength in high temperature environments, the high chromium and molybdenum content of the alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, from highly oxidising environments to general corrosive environments, with high resistance to spotting and fission corrosion. INCONEL 625 is also extremely resistant to chloride contaminated media such as seawater, geothermal water, neutral salt and brine.
Application:
The soft annealed low carbon alloy 625 is widely used in the chemical process industry, and its good corrosion resistance and high strength make it a thin structural component. Alloy 625 can be used in applications where it is exposed to seawater and subjected to high mechanical stresses. Typical application areas:
1. Chloride-containing organic chemical process process components, especially where acid chloride catalysts are used
2. Distillers and bleachers for the pulp and paper industry
3. Absorption tower, reheater, flue gas inlet baffle, fan (wet), agitator, deflector and flue in flue gas desulfurization system
4. Equipment and components used in the manufacture of acid gas environments
5. Acetic acid and acetic anhydride reaction generator
6. Sulfuric acid condenser
Matching Welding Consumables:
ERNiCrMo-3 ENiCrMo-3
Supply Style:
Plate, strip, bar, wire, forging, light bar, welding material, flange, etc., can be processed according to the drawing
