Yield Strength σb ≥ 550Mpa
Elongation: δ ≥ 15%
Hardness ≤ 310 (HB)
Corrosion Resistance:
The elevated levels of chromium and molybdenum present in 2507 duplex steel confer significant resistance to organic acids, including formic and acetic acids. Additionally, this steel exhibits remarkable durability against inorganic acids, particularly those that contain chlorides. In comparison to the austenitic alloy 904L, which is engineered to withstand corrosion from pure sulphuric acid, 2507 duplex steel demonstrates enhanced resistance to dilute sulphuric acid that is combined with chloride ions. Furthermore, 316L is unsuitable for use in environments with hydrochloric acid, as it is vulnerable to both localized and generalized corrosion. In contrast, 2507 duplex steel offers superior protection against pitting and gap corrosion in dilute hydrochloric acid settings.
Application:
Equipment utilized in the oil and gas sector includes offshore platforms, heat exchangers, underwater apparatus, and fire-fighting systems. Additionally, it encompasses the chemical processing industry, ware and pipeline sectors, as well as desalination processes, high-pressure reverse osmosis equipment, and subsea pipelines. Furthermore, within the energy sector, one finds power plant desulphurization and denitrification flue gas desulfurization systems, industrial scrubbing systems, and absorption towers. The array of mechanical components consists of high-strength, corrosion-resistant, and wear-resistant materials.
Matching Welding Consumables:
ER2594 wire and E2594 electrode for the welding of 2507 duplex steel.
Supply Style:
Sheets, strips, bars, wire, forgings, bright bars, weldments, flanges, etc., according to the drawing
