Corrosion Resistance:
Al-6XN (UNS N08367) is a super austenitic stainless steel with excellent resistance to chloride ion pitting and crevice corrosion. As a corrosion resistant alloy with good cost performance, its combined corrosion resistance is a significant leap forward compared to 316L, while its corrosion resistance is close to that of other corrosion resistant nickel-based alloys such as C-276, giving it a significant cost advantage. Because of the significant addition of nitrogen to the alloy, Al-6XN has a higher tensile strength than conventional austenitic stainless steels (e.g. 304, 316, 317, etc.), while maintaining excellent material toughness and impact strength. . Typical operating conditions: 60% sulphuric acid, below 80°C, annual corrosion rate <0.1mm.
Application:
Chemical vessels and pipelines, offshore oil and gas platforms, condensers in contact with seawater or crude oil, heat exchangers and piping systems, filter presses, storage tanks and pressure rollers in the pulp bleaching process, flue gas desulphurisation equipment (FGD) in thermal power plants, steel mills, petrochemical companies, crude oil distillation towers and packing, desalination equipment and pumps, servo water piping systems in nuclear power plants, transformer housings exposed to the marine environment, pharmaceutical equipment (for the purity of pharmaceuticals), food production equipment
Matching Welding Consumables:
AWS A5.14 wire ERNiCrMo-3 or AWS A5.11 electrode ENiCrMo-3 is recommended for welding of Al-6XN stainless steel
Supply Style:
Plate, strip, bar, wire, forgings, light bars, welding consumables, flanges, etc., as per the drawing
